FAQ · questions we keep getting

Questions HR won't answer.

Is CTC the same as my salary?

No. CTC includes things that never reach your bank every month: the employer's PF share, gratuity, insurance premiums, variable pay and more. Ask for a month-wise in-hand figure. Our Don't Sign Yet service breaks this down for you.

HR keeps lowballing my expected salary. What do I do?

Anchor with your research and current numbers, ask what the band is, and negotiate on the full package, not just fixed pay. Counter (₹299) gives you the exact wording.

Should I resign before my background verification (BGV) clears?

It's safer to wait for written confirmation that BGV is clear or that the offer stands. Offers do get pulled after people resign.

Can my employer reject my notice period buyout?

Often, yes. It depends on your appointment letter and company policy. Check the clause, ask for the decision in writing, and keep every email.

My F&F or relieving letter is being withheld. What now?

Follow up in writing, keep a record of handover and asset return, and escalate politely. If it drags, Antivenom (₹499) helps you work out calm next steps. For legal action, talk to a lawyer.

I've been put on a PIP or asked to resign. Is it over?

Not necessarily. Don't sign anything in a hurry, get the PIP goals in writing, and document everything. Antivenom covers PIPs and other HR crises.

The company is demanding a training bond amount. Do I have to pay?

It depends on what you signed and whether the amount is reasonable. Read the bond terms carefully and get legal advice before paying large sums.

Why did HR ghost me after all the rounds?

Positions go on hold, budgets change and many teams simply don't close the loop. It isn't always about you. Follow up once, then move on.

Is my identity safe with you?

Yes. We never publish names or identifiable details, and stories are redacted before they go public. See our Privacy page.

Who are you?

An HR insider who prefers to stay anonymous. No names, no faces. The advice is what matters.

How do I pay?

No payment happens on this website. After you book, we confirm the details on email or WhatsApp.

Is this legal advice?

No. It's general guidance from an HR perspective, not legal advice. For legal action, please consult a lawyer.
